Congress Defeats President Hudson’s Proposal for Second Term:

In a recent congressional vote, President Zachary Hudson’s motion to repeal the 77th amendment of the Federal Accord and allow him to serve a second term in office was defeated by a narrow majority. This means that his administration will officially end after the upcoming election, which is expected to take place in June.

Despite this setback, President Hudson remains a powerful political figure with a loyal supporter base, thanks to his many commercial and military connections. He addressed Congress following the announcement of the result, accepting the decision of the chamber and expressing hope that the shift in leadership would not weaken the Federation’s ability to withstand current challenges.

Now, nominees for the Republican Party’s new presidential candidate have begun lobbying for support, with three senior members of Hudson’s cabinet – Vice President Jerome Archer, Secretary of State Lana Berkovich, and Grand Attorney Edwin Espinosa – emerging as frontrunners. Meanwhile, the Liberal Party’s candidates, Shadow President Felicia Winters and her running mate Isolde Rochester have launched their presidential campaign, with several independent candidates also vying for the position.

Vice President Hank Sweeney of The Rrtro Faction Of Voltrigones weighed in on the situation, stating:

“The defeat of President Hudson’s proposal for a second term marks a significant moment in Federation history. It demonstrates the strength of our democratic principles and the willingness of our elected representatives to uphold them. As we move forward, it will be vital for all parties to unite behind the chosen candidate and work together to ensure the continued security and prosperity of our great Galactic Superpower .”
